About

POSTECH Research Visit Program is for international students who wish to conduct research in POSTECH. 

Students should contact to-be advisor at POSTECH by themselves and get approved to apply for the program.

Duration

Two Months to Twenty Four Months (Two Full Academic Year)

* May be started every 1st or 16th of each month on a monthly basis

Timeline

Fee & Tuition

   ○ Application Fee: 100,000 KRW

   ○ Service Fee: 100,000 KRW

   * Both Fee are non-refundable after submitting the application.

Eligibility

Students must:

   ○ Currently be enrolled in Undergraduate or Higher Progrm in their Home Instituion or Earned Bachelor's or Higher Degree in STEM Fields

   ○ Have enough Language Proficiency to participate in Research by English or Korean

Process

1. Contact to-be Advisor at POSTECH

Contact the advisor or laboratory where you wish to participate research.

2. Get Approval from Advisor & Department

Get approval from the advisor and let the advisor contact the department to finalize your approval.

Once it's done, each department will send Official Invitation for the student to International Relations Office.

3. Submit Application

After receiving the Official Invitation from department, International Relations Office will send Call for Application email to those students.

Students should submit application through our IR Portal with Required Documents once they receive the email. During Application period, student may receive system emails to supplement the documents. If you do, please ensure to submit the updated or revised one as soon as possible.

4. Admission Result

Admission Results will be announced via email with Admission Package including Research Visit Student Guide.

Required Documents

   ○ Copy of Degree or Certificate of Enrollment

      - Should be apostilled from Korean Embassy or Official Apostille Center, not Home Institution

      - Graduation Letter, Certificate of Completion, or else cannot replace the Copy of Master's Degree

      - Certificate of Enrollment should be issued within six months 

   ○ Letter of Approval

      - Should be signed by to-be Advisor at POSTECH

      - Students may download the Form here.

   ○ Research Student Confirmation Form

      - Should be signed by to-be Advisor at POSTECH

      - Students amy download the Form here.

   ○ Recommendation Letter

      - Should be issued from Home Institution Faculty or Staff

   ○ Copy of Passport

      - Should be valid for six months from the end of the program

   ○ Financial Proof

      - Bank Statement or Scholarship Certificate under student name

      - Amount should be at least 3,000 USD (for a semester), 7,500 USD (for two semesters)
